PSY - Twice the army enlisted.

You will have heard about Korean singer PSY and his songs in the "Gaangnam style".

1.2 billion people have seen his music videos on Youtube and his song was # 2 on the Billboard charts.
Korea people were surprised to his global success also and are proud of him.
But there was a big ordeal twice in the past his life.

The first trials were in the early.
Nov. 15, 2001, he was arrested on charges of police Cannabis inhalation .
Court was sentenced to fine him 500 million won.
Second trials is military service.
Do you know that Korean men must enlist in the army ?
Because Korean War did not officially end. So many young men in Korea goes to the army like Israel.
In 2003, Psy was enlisted in the South Korean military as part of mandatory military service imposed on all South Korean men aged 18 to 35.
Psy was excused from military duty due to working at a software developing company (the South Korean government grants those with technical expertise work in companies that serve the national interest). He was expected to be released from duties in 2005.

In 2007, state prosecutors accused Psy of "neglecting" his work, holding concerts and appearing on local television networks during his period of prior employment.
On October 12, 2007, the Seoul Administrative Court decided that Psy must be redrafted, rejecting a lawsuit filed by Psy against the Military Manpower Administration (MMA) in August. Psy was re-drafted into the military two months later.
There Psy held the rank of Private First Class and served as a signalman in South Korea's 52nd Army Infantry Division, before being released from duties in July 2009.
Few people in military service twice in Korea. ^^

But he did not get frustrated.
After out of the army he apologized several times and most Korean people forgave him.
He worked hard and finally became a world best singer.

Here is a music video when he was rookie. Even then, he was a passionate singer.
