Deepening autumn welcomes chilly winter

As trees across Seoul change color, be they lining the streets or adorning the mountains of Namsan, Bukhansan or Inwangsan, autumn is in full swing across the city, exuding its unique colors and manifesting the sentiments of a beautiful season.

For those who want to indulge themselves this autumn, the Sky (Haneul) Park is a good place to go, located within the World Cup Park in Sangam-dong in western Seoul. When visitors reach the park’s eulalia field, they will find the silver grass dancing in the fresh autumn breeze under a deep blue sky.

Moreover, the 12th Seoul Eulalia Festival kicked off on October 18, drawing endless visitors to the beautiful destination. On October 24, too, visitors flocked to the park, where they enjoyed the magnificent scene of eulalia grass blazing against the sun, silver on gold.

After walking up the 291 steps of the “Stairway to Heaven” to the upper plateau of the Sky Park, they were met with the stunning view of Seoul stretching off in each and every direction. The splendid World Cup Stadium and the Hangang River were close at hand and in the distance the towering skyscrapers were dotted all around the city.

From the top of the stairway, following a wooden fence led them to the eulalia field where they could see each blade of decorative grass dancing like a striking white wave lapping in the wind.

One has to go no further than this park to feel what autumn is like in Seoul.

Passing on by word of mouth the beauty of this urban landscape, an endless number of people, whether casual strollers or couples holding hands, keep coming to this autumn-soaked park.

How to get there

By subway:
Get off at the World Cup Stadium Station Line 6, go out of exit 1, go straight along the main road and turn right. Cross the street and head over the overpass that links to the park. You will then be at the base of the “Stairway to Heaven.”

By bus:
Buses number 271, 571, 7011, 7013, and 7715 can all get you to the Sky Park.
